Remembering Yellowstone

Just today, reading the word "yellow", the whole scene flew vividly in my head. Evening falling and we are watching fields, two large patches of dry looking reeds bordered by a narrow stream, fields on the further side: astounded, we see Cartwheeling birds with yellow heads Rise in the reeds. Bill explains "there are. Yellow headed blackbirds". We watch. Finally quiet falls

From the left, a haughty sandhill crane stalks into view. Oh, he's followed by a mate and a big chick! We watch.

They slowly progress along the far side of the stream. then the male leaves the family and wades across the stream. I am glued to the binoculars. After he stands in the Reeds awhile, he inclines his head politely and addresses a small bird.

I want to recite the next acts but this drama is getting too long for now. Maybe later!
